Trisha Norstrud

HR Manager

If you opened your own business, what would it be?

I would absolutely LOVE to open my own Sports/Recreational Facility that would offer a wide variety of sports for kids of all ages. I think we have some great facilities out there, I would just want to take all of those ideas and create one ultimate facility! Plus, I love coaching and working with kids and this would be a way to do that!

What advice would you give your younger self?

Continue to go for your goals. Don’t stop until you succeed and DO NOT worry about what others may think. I think too often we try to be something that we are not as it may look better to others and in the end as long as we are happy, kind and doing our best, that is all that matters.

Exceptional Skills-

I feel like I can usually pull a positive from a negative. I am able to see both sides of a situation and can generally find a compromise. I also love to throw laughter in many situations as I just feel you relax once you start laughing.

What makes you feel fulfilled?

Watching my kids do something by themselves for the first time or learn something new. I am in awe right now of all the things they are learning each day. I also love helping anyone around me. My parents were and are the best role models for me and if I can help others half as much as they have, then I feel like I have accomplished something great!

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?

Cheerleader. This was said to me by a friend and it makes quite a bit of sense. I love cheering others on both in my personal life and at work. I want to see others do the best they can!

Favorite Book-

Right now, I would have to say it would be some of the Children’s books I get to read with my kids. Between life at home and work it seems that is what I read the most. One of the current books we keep going back to is “The Book With No Pictures”. My daughter thinks it is hilarious and makes me laugh every time!

What makes your heart race?

Getting up and talking in front of people. No matter how many times I do it, it still makes my heart race! I feel like I have become a better speaker, but I think I will always get a little nervous.

Organization or cause near to your heart-

There are quite a few for sure! One in particular is Strands of Strength. I have a good friend that is a committee member and it really is amazing what they do for so many individuals. Wigs are expensive! So that there is an organization that works to give so many people a wig to help make them feel a bit more like themselves while going through their cancer treatment is just awesome!

What keeps you up at night?

Planning for the week and making sure that I have things ready or done for not only myself, but my family. And honestly all the scary things that happen in the world. I want my kids to feel safe so coming up with ways to make sure they do will keep me up!

What is a belief you once held but no longer do?

I used to believe that it mattered what kind of house or car I had, you know all the material things. I have slowly realized and sometimes need to remind myself that none of that matters. Having my family happy, safe and healthy are what really does. Having experiences together as family and creating memories with friends is what it is all about, for me anyways.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about?

Really anything! I love talking about life, family and work with other women. It is great to find things in common. The best feeling is knowing you are not alone and so many other women have gone through the same things you have. And when you can get new advice or a new idea from another woman… well that is just icing on the cake!
