If you opened your own business, what would it be?

Aside from already being a business owner, I’d love to own an old-fashioned movie theater.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Stop worrying about pleasing others. Go be you and remember to take in all life has to offer.

Exceptional Skills-

The ability to read people and help others feel at ease in social settings. I’m that person at networking events that introduces myself to the person standing or sitting by themselves.

What makes you feel fulfilled?

I love lots of things! The ocean, for one. I grew up by the beach, and whenever I visit the coasts, I have to go the beach and put my toes in the sand. I love my family and seeing them laugh about the silly things. I love learning from the elderly. There are so many stories that have never been told.

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?

Thankful and compassionate. I truly love people and very appreciative of a person’s time.

Favorite Book-

I’m not sure if I have just one, but I do like giving books as gifts. Right now, I would say A Curious Mind, by Brian Grazer.

What makes your heart race?

Organization or cause near to your heart-

What keeps you up at night?

My 3 year old daughter

What is a belief you once held but no longer do?

I used to believe that everyone’s opinion of me matters. However, I am responsible for the decisions I make and no one else has to live in my shoes but me.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about?

I love that we have so many opportunities in Des Moines to get and stay connected with other women. The challenge is there isn’t enough time in the day! I love finding ways to connect by meeting new people and learning about a person’s journey.
