If you opened your own business, what would it be? I would run a volleyball club and coach girls about the life skills that can be learned through playing a team sport and participating in a club.

What advice would you give your younger self?  Check what you decide to participate in against your purpose and priorities. Keep going back to this!

Exceptional Skills: Dedicated and committed to my word and anything I decide to make a priority in life. I also like to organize and plan.

What makes you feel fulfilled? Being a mom, it’s been my dream since I was a little girl and when I see successes in their life because of things I’ve taught them, that is the most fulfilling thing in the world to me! I love having fun while getting things done/problem solving. I’m a giver, it feels good to give. I just have to be careful not to pour it out to things that don’t match my purpose and priorities.

Hobbies: chasing kids, playing and coaching volleyball, working outside (gardening, honey bees, hardwood trees, prairies, etc), camping, making time for good friends (and food!)

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?  Intense and generous

Favorite Quote: “Everything will be all right in the end. So, if it’s not all right, it is not yet the end!” – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Favorite Bible verse: Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. (Mt. 11:28-30)

Favorite Book: Ender’s Game

What makes your heart race? The moment my child decides to hide or explore in a public place and I can’t find them.

Organization or cause near to your heart: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. My niece and some kids of a dear friend have CF. I’m in the fight with them to help CF stand for CURE FOUND.

Favorite Food: I will pretty much eat anything, but I have a hard time resisting any combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel.

What keeps you up at night? My Kids! (especially the baby)

What is a belief you once held but no longer do? I used to believe and desire to have a clean house for ANYONE to come over to my house. Then, I read this quote, and it helped, at least a little. Now I try to embrace the chaos and not feel so bad when people come over to see ME…not my house. “If You Came To See Me Welcome! If You Came To See My House, Please Make An Appointment!” – unknown.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about? I want to connect with other authentic women. I believe there is at least one thing, if you dig deep enough and are vulnerable enough, that you can find in common with another person to create a foundation for friendship and compassion and you never know where that could lead!
