If you opened your own business, what would it be?

I recently did actually! My husband and I started a business called Sign Gypsies Des Moines. We provide custom yard greetings for all occasions. It’s a super fun, creative outlet and we love bringing joy to people with these signs.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Everything will turn out exactly as it’s supposed to so try not to stress so much when things aren’t going according to YOUR plan.

Exceptional Skills-

I’m a great listener and an organizing/scheduling QUEEN.

What makes you feel fulfilled?

Doing ALL the things. I love staying busy and I feel great when I successfully juggle all my personal and professional obligations.

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?

Kind. I hope I’m doing enough so other people feel the same.

Favorite Book-

The Harry Potter series. I loved reading the books when they first came out but I love reading them with my kids even more. It’s so fun to see them enjoying the books and begging to read more.

What makes your heart race?

Literally – running. I’m hoping to run a half marathon again.

Organization or cause near to your heart-

Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (CHASA) or anything related to cerebral palsy since I have two sons with CP.

What keeps you up at night?

Honestly nothing. I’m very fortunate to sleep great. I worry plenty during the day though so don’t be too jealous.

What is a belief you once held but no longer do?

Most answers that pop into my head for this question are related to parenting…like how my kids would NEVER use an iPad when we’re out to dinner. Then I had kids and now I laugh at my former non-parent self.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about?

I love meeting new people and connecting. I enjoy how you can almost always find something in common with someone, no matter how different your lives may seem initially.
