Rachel ATWOOD was an incredible woman. She was a loving wife and mother. She was smart and witty and held a Master's Degree in Public Administration. She was an entrepreneur and business owner. She was vibrant and loved by many.
Rachel was my best friend in college. She taught me so much about motherhood and what being a strong woman looked like. She pushed me to think big. Dream big. We dabbled in non-profit work and even had our own organization focused on women and children while in school.
Rachel died by suicide on July 22, 2014. Her death was the hardest thing I've dealt with in my life. Since her passing, I have changed the way I interact with women. I'm intentional about maintaining relationships. I choose to be open and transparent, messy and loud.
The Atwood Center for Women is my way of honoring my friend. It's me extending my hand to other women who want to embrace all of life. The good, the bad and the ugly.
The world cannot afford to lose another Rachel. Join me in transforming how we interact with people. Wear your heart on your sleeve so that others can see how brightly it shines.
All my love, Gina
