If you opened your own business, what would it be?

Creating an app that everyone uses and loves. I have a passion for software so would really enjoy this!

What advice would you give your younger self?

Be happy with the present.  I used to spend so much time wanting more.  A bigger house, a nicer car, the perfect family, the best clothes.  I missed out on not appreciating all I was blessed with and didn’t realize how great I had it at that moment.

Exceptional Skills-

Finding solutions.  I love to makes things better, whether at work or with my children.  I have a way of lightening up the mood with my humor and love to make people laugh.  I also think I make people feel good, whether a simple compliment or just listening as a friend.  I also have an amazing skill of not being able to say no.  I think everyone knows if their kid is selling something, send them to my house!

What makes you feel fulfilled?

Feeling valued and appreciated.  Successfully completing projects, especially complicated ones!  Helping others when they need it.  Seeing my kids be kind to others.

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?

Outgoing

Favorite Book-

I wouldn’t say I have a favorite.  I’ve recently enjoyed the psychological thrillers, like The Wife Between Us and The Girl on the Train.

What makes your heart race?

Public speaking!  I can talk in a meeting about software or something related to my job, but if I have to get in front of people, especially behind a podium, I become a nervous wreck!

Organization or cause near to your heart-

First one would be Ronald McDonald house.  I spent time volunteering there and it really made me realize how much I take for granted and how fortunate I am.  It’s so great those families have a place like that to go to when they are going through such a difficult time.  Second one would be Chrysalis Foundation.  The people running that organization are simply awesome and do so much to make a different in young girls lives.  They also put on so many great events that are inspiration to women of all ages.

What keeps you up at night?

You mean at 4:00 am in the morning?  Ha!  That’s when I lay in bed thinking about what’s ahead in my day.  It’s usually making mental notes of what I have to get done for that day, either with work or personally.

What is a belief you once held but no longer do?

Strong people don’t ask for help.  I’ve realized now that I don’t have to try and do it all by myself.  It truly takes a village!  If I need help getting one of my kids to an activity or for someone to watch them for a few hours, it’s okay to ask.  It’s okay to take a few hours to have some “me” time once in a while.  I am surrounded by so many amazing people that I know are there for me, whether to help or just listen and that’s a great feeling to have.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about?

Anything!  Whether it be discussing careers, motherhood, relationships-you name it-I’m a pretty open book! I can make friends with anyone, so I enjoy being around other strong women and would enjoy any types of connections that would create.
