If you opened your own business, what would it be?
I would like to open a late night dessert cafe with an abundance of macarons, fluffy custard filled pastries, shaved ice cream, milk tea, and some light concoctions. Perhaps a small stage for open mic and a few deck of cards for entertainment.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Accept feedback. It's okay to be wrong or vulnerable. Don't be stubborn and continue to do the complete opposite just because you don't want to be told or admit that you are wrong.
I have a very good memory. I remember random life events and experiences as far back as elementary school. If were to ever have a brief conversation, I will most likely remember your name, that something about you, and your birthday if you tell me.
What makes you feel fulfilled?
When I am able to help someone who needs help whether it's simply holding a door or tackling a major crisis together.
When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?
Playful. I am a child at heart and also have the attention span of your average kindergartner. I love to daydream, be silly, and chuckle at my own corny jokes.
I don't currently have one and would like to change that. I've lost touch with my reading and would love to get back into it. During my reading days, I gravitated toward mysteries biographies!
What makes your heart race?
So many things! When my husband naturally does something so dorky that it makes me smile. Songs that remind me of a sweet memory from the past. Also when one of my five furry pets does something super cute. :)
Organization or cause near to your heart-
Community-based organizations that help families become self-sufficient through resource connections, education programs, and other family support initiatives. Without these organizations, refugee families like mine would have had a more difficult time becoming assimilated to a brand new community and culture.
What keeps you up at night?
Being home alone overnight. Believe it or not, I've never lived on my own before and have extreme paranoia when my husband travels for work.
What is a belief you once held but no longer do?
That everyone is judging my every move and what I say. In reality, no one really cares. If they do, I guess that's one thing to add on their plate, not mine.
What are you interested in connecting with other women about?
Anything! I'd love to learn from women from all walks of life. I want to hear everyone's unique stories.
