If you opened your own business, what would it be?
I would love to own a business where I could be a talent agent to develop young people and help them find jobs that align to their strengths throughout their career. I love their outlook on life, their energy and their curiosity and they keep me young in my thought process, digital knowledge, and how I live my life so it’s a win-win.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t manage your time because we all have 24 hrs in a day. Learn how to manage your energy for the things that matter most. And try everything – you will learn a lot, and you’ll never regret it.
The ability to jump into something completely unknown, quickly get up to speed and decisively determine a path-forward while bringing everyone along and leveraging their strengths to bring it to life.
What makes you feel fulfilled?
My children. Helping others. Developing leaders. Trying new things.
When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?
Daring Greatly. I love all Brene Brown books but this is by far my favorite.
What makes your heart race?
Personally, every time one of my children gets close to hitting a life milestone (i.e. first step, first day of school, graduation, first date, etc.). Professionally, getting involved with an effort that is big, complex, and will significantly impact people.
Organization or cause near to your heart-
I find joy in getting involved with any and all causes in any way that is helpful. Where I spend most of my time today is helping to build and develop our future leaders.
What keeps you up at night?
Coming up with ideas on how to help the people that I have either interacted with during the day/week or am mentoring.
What is a belief you once held but no longer do?
I lost myself for years trying to fit into one culture over another because I thought that would make me more authentic. I now know that I can belong in both worlds and have embraced both cultures which (I believe) has made me a better person.
What are you interested in connecting with other women about?
I love hearing the journey and experiences women have had in their life.
