If you opened your own business, what would it be?

I have always wanted to have a goat farm. I love goats, and I would use them as therapy animals and make goat cheese!

What advice would you give your younger self?

It’s perfectly alright to not have a plan and let life come to you. In fact, sometimes letting life unfold leaves you in a better place than you could possibly imagine.

Exceptional Skills-

Baking pies from scratch, cribbage, public speaking, and using public policy and advocacy to fight for a better world

What makes you feel fulfilled?

Empowering others to use their personal narratives as advocacy tools for better communities and accountability from elected officials.

When asked to describe yourself, what’s the first word that pops into your mind?

Favorite Book-

To Kill a Mockingbird

What makes your heart race?

Watching my beautiful toddler, Eloise, experience the world in her own way.

Talking about how we’re going to change the world with my husband.

Knowing that despite challenges, I’m fighting the good fight.

Organization or cause near to your heart-

I am one of 25 million Americans who suffer from severe chronic pain. I use my experiences and band together with others (mostly women) to fight for better treatment and accommodations for people like us. Hopefully, there will be a strong, well-equipped organization to join the fight someday.

What keeps you up at night?

Widespread body pain. Also, the dueling snores of my husband and Boston Terrier.

What is a belief you once held but no longer do?

I see more shades of gray in my life, as I get older. Answers, solutions, experiences aren’t black and white, cut and dried to me anymore. I see nuance everywhere.

What are you interested in connecting with other women about?

Absolutely everything! I want to hear stories, share experiences, and discover how we can lift each other up.
